Follow us on our 2012 Summer Adventure. Probably not as exciting as our trips from past years. We'll pretty much be in our own back yard, and within a day trip of home here in Massachusetts. Alex and I will be visiting the vast state of Maine. Every excursion of ours can be a great adventure, and since we've only visited a limited amount of Maine, there's so much for us to explore.

Please Enjoy Reading, as I enjoy sharing this with you. And feel free to share this with your friends!

Also, if you know of any place we should check out, leave me a comment and we'll try to fit it in.

Day 2 - Bass Head Lighthouse

Our next stop was the Bass Head Lighthouse. I think it was the only thing that I just had to see on this trip. When I was three my parents took me here with my grandmother. The only thing I remember was the lighthouse. And when my grandmother took off her wig in the cabin we were staying in. I was devastated. I couldn't remember much else. When we first got to the lighthouse yesterday I knew I was at the right place, but the view was wrong.

But after following another trail down a steep set of stairs the lighthouse came into the view I remembered.

After we viewed the lighthouse, played on the rocks, we then sat in the small parking lot to watch the idiots fight for a parking spot. During one Mexican standoff a scooter pulled up and was waiting for a spot. We kindly told him he could park next to our bike. We laughed as he scooted around the cars and parked next to us. The car that was next in line thought where the bike was parked was an open space. Haha nope.
After that bit of amusement we headed back to camp for dinner, a little bit of drinking by the fire and turned in early.

Day 1 & 2 - Bar Harbor and Cadillac Mountain

Hello my fellow adventure followers. I'm jumping into this journey report on day three.
Since we are still a day's drive to home, there's not too too much to share. We're still in new england and I know a lot of you have been up here. I'll share my photos and some stories if we actually have an adventure.

Tuesday we drove up, got to Bar Harbor around 3 and found a lovely campground that I will gladly recommend to anyone looking to RV or Tent.

The Bar Harbor Campground. $32 a night to tent (no water or electricity). You get to drive around and claim any spot that is empty. First come first served. The camp sites are varied from full wooded sites to full sun. Nice pool and playground. Hiking trails that overlook the water, adequate bath houses too. A mysterious fog rolls in and out every morning.

After a good nights sleep, we got up wednesday morning unloaded the bike and rode into Bar Harbor. We had breakfast in a nice restaurant nestled amongst the shops called Testas. Yummy blueberry pancakes.

After watching the fog in the harbor clear out we hopped back on the bike and headed to Arcadia national park. Up to the top of Caddillac Mountain where the Pink granite, blue waters, and dark green islands all greet your eyes. We lucked out and had miles of visibility. After a hike along the loop trail over the pink granite, and after I caught my breath we were back on the bike to continue pur cruise around Arcadia, and to escape the droves of tourists.
